1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Roommates mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Roommates is a household management application that enables users to:

• Coordinate chores and tasks among household members
• Track and split shared expenses
• Communicate with household members
• Record payment settlements

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must be at least 13 years old to use this App
• One person per account; sharing accounts is prohibited

3.2 Account Security

• You are responsible for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these Terms

4. Household Data

4.1 Shared Household

When you join a household, your data becomes visible to all household members. This includes chores, expenses, and your contribution status.

4.2 Data Accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter. Expense amounts and splits should be verified with household members. We are not responsible for disputes between household members.

6. Subscription Services

6.1 Premium Features

Some features require a premium subscription, which is processed through the Apple App Store.

6.2 Billing

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings

7. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Upload offensive, illegal, or inappropriate content
• Harass or abuse other users
• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise the App
• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Create fake accounts or impersonate others
• Upload viruses or malicious code

8. Content and Intellectual Property

8.1 Your Content

• You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, text, data)
• You grant us a license to store and display your content for App functionality
• You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to content you upload

8.2 Our Property

• The App, design, code, and branding are our intellectual property
• You may not copy, modify, or distribute our code or assets

9. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data.

10. Disclaimers and Limitations

10.1 "As Is" Service

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee the App will be error-free or uninterrupted
• We do not guarantee data accuracy or availability

10.2 Limitation of Liability

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App
• We are not responsible for data loss, disputes, or payment errors

11. Termination

11.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account removes your access to household data.

11.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. We may discontinue the App with 30 days notice.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Major changes will be announced in the App.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration.
